“Since 2015, the Walter Nash Centre has utilised the SMARTSQUARE Floor Protection System.

Although primarily a community sports hub, we also host a variety of regional and national large scale non-sporting catered events such as weddings, celebrations/awards nights, expos, large scale meetings and concerts. The SMARTSQUARE 2 x 1m carpet tiles are used to cover the sports floor and enhance the acoustics and ambience.

The carpet tiles have undergone rigorous testing for the large-scale events and have proven to still look great and function flawlessly — the SMARTSQUARE system is a high-quality solution. Without the SMARTSQUARE system we would not be able to have non-sporting events due to the given requirement of soft soled shoes required on the sports floor.

Furthermore, the SMARTSQUARE carpet tiles are simple to clean; in fact, they are so simple to clean that once we experienced a heat pump that leaked directly onto a stack of SMARTSQUARE carpet tiles, causing some of them to become mouldy. However, after thoroughly cleaning and drying the SMARTSQUARE carpet tiles, they were completely saved and returned to their original, pristine condition.

All-in-all if you want to use your venue sports floor for non-sporting use and want an adequate sports floor protection, I would recommend SMARTSQUARE to other venues.

The ease of use, placement and cleaning, lockable nonslip pattern, hard wearing carpet tiles and the fact it remains good looking makes SMARTSQUARE a worthwhile asset.”
